The Time Out PadTM helps parents make the most of the time out practice.
To help children learn when their behavior is not acceptable, many parents use the 'time-out' practice, sitting the child quietly for a few summary to cool down. Time-outs are a fantastic way for the parents to stay cool too!

STEP 1 The first notification
This notification stage is vital to the success of the time-out practice, as it gives your child the opportunity to right inappropriate behavior.
Come down to the eye level of your child, and say in a firm but cool voice Your behavior is unacceptable. We do not swear and hit people in this house. Please do not do it again.
STEP 2 The final notification
For a repeat of the behavior, give a point notification, like: I told you not to do that. We dont do that in our house. If you do that again you will go on the Time Out PadTM".
STEP 3 The time-out
If the behavior is continual, use the Time Out PadTM. Tell the child how long they have to sit quietly (experts recommend roughly one minute per year of age) and the reason why you have placed them there.
STEP 4 The explanation
If you pop your head around the corner to check on your child and you see the amber light, you will know you have less than one minute to go, which gives you time to prepare for the explanation stage.
Once you hear the End Tune and the light is green, come down to eye level with your child, and question them for an explanation
STEP 5 Praise and go on
Once the explanation has been made give your child a huge hug. After the hug its time to go on and say 'well done for finishing your time-out.'

When I first saw this item honestly I laughed but a week later I finished up purchasing it. As a mother of four very young children I have a trend of putting children in time out but getting distracted by life. As a result two things happen: One my toddler will sneak out and I don't realize it till much later or Two they end up in time way too long. This pad solved both problems, it alerts me if my toddler tries to escape and it sings a fun song when time out is over so that I can talk with my children.
One piece of advice thought. Your child may find this fun at first, mine did, consequently I made sure to give reasons for what it was for and did not allow them to play with it. The novelty of it when it first arrived soon self-indulgent and they now do not want to be on the time out pad.

| Simple to use. Small enough to be portable. Works better then probable. My two year ancient kind of likes it but, he still has very effective time-outs. With 3 high spirited boys this has helped bring more order and consistency on my part. I would recommend this to any worn out parent of toddlers. |

I like this mat. It makes time outs productive and simple in my house. Before time outs were guesstimates. I intended for my child to sit for 3 summary but by the time they sneak out a couple of times they might have been there for 4 or 5 summary. With this there is no guessing and my kids stay in time out! They stay for the right amount of time and you can see them watch the lights and get excited they refined their time out! Its also small enough to take with you. I like it. I thought it was a small on the high side but would highly recommend it.

| This time out pad is simple to use and really helped keep our son in time out. He's two, and before we bought this he would "escape" from time out over and over again. Now, he stays in time out until the end. The only conundrum is that now and again he likes to push the button, but it's set up so that even if he touches the button it doesn't interfere with the time-out. By and large, this mat serves it's gathering and I would recommend to anyone with a young toddler. |
