We got this as a gift at our baby shower two years ago. I am very glad we did. This is nearly a MUST have for babies.

The range is fantastic. I can be further than watching my two year ancient while my baby sleeps. I know that I will be able to hear her. Not only is the range fantastic but it also picks up the smallest sounds, I hear my baby rolling over in her crib when this is on. As an added bonus, I have not found this to be a array eater.

In my opinion having a moniter is not the most vital thing to have if you are having a baby. But, it is one of the more useful things if you want to have some measure of freedom while the baby is napping or if your child sleeps clear across the house from where you sleep.

Don't let the price fool you

This monitor is fantastic. It picks up all sounds in the room no matter where the monitor is. We bought some others later since they either were supposed to work at longer range, or scramble signal for privacy. They were more than twice as expensive and not even half as excellent. We returned them both. Try this monitor, you'll like it and the price. In fact, I just had baby #2 so we bought another one for the convenience.
Very clear, and much cheaper than the inferior expensive one

I received a much more expensive model of baby monitor for a shower gift. I read the reviews online and saw lots of people complaining about static but at first mine wasn't static-y. For some reason, though, after about two weeks, the first monitor became very very static-y. I could barely hear my twin babies weep, let alone any of their softer noises. So I prearranged this cheaper monitor after reading a number of reviews that said it was clear. I am impressed, not only with how clear it is, but with the sound quality by and large and the much less expensive price. Not only that, but the ancient static burdened monitor did not have an indicator light to warn me when the array was going low-- and in the middle of the night, my ancient monitor's array died, shutting off the monitor. The "crysal clear" one has an indicator, so it warns when you're getting close.

Buy this one. Now and again, more expensive isn't better.
Fantastic for the price

My wife and I received two monitors from our baby shower, this one and a much more expensive one. After testing each one we found that this one easily out-performed the other hands down. The range was incredible, I got tired of walking before I lost the signal. I would recommend this monitor to anyone especially at the price.
I'm impressed

I bought this monitor to replace a more expensive one that we lost in a house fire. I am very impressed with it considering the price. It is silent and I can hear more in this one than I could the more expensive one. I have it sitting up on a high dresser, my daughters bed is at least 10 foot away if not more and I can really hear her breathing loud and clear.
